Technology shouldn't be impersonal. It's time to make things personal.

Personalization was the engine behind Web 2.0, and increasingly, it's becoming the engine behind 21st-century culture as well. Take TV. Cable, satellite, and DVR have provided so many choices, it's easy to choose what we want to watch, when we want to watch it.
YourScreen took the concept of personalization a step further by creating a TV-based application that allows users to customize the graphics and content they watch. With the corporate office in mind, YourScreen commissioned us to create a custom desktop player that would allow users to display branded information on television screens throughout their organization or business. The client wanted an application that could be easily customized and branded to suit multiple clients' needs and desires.
One of the problems we faced was creating an application that could be flexible to the wide variety of televisions available. We needed to accommodate multiple screen sizes, streaming content, and local caching of data (in case of network outage.) In addition, because this was a digital application, it needed to be easily updated by users with little or no technical knowledge.
We created a rich player application that could run in multiple views and could be customized and extended through an online content management system. With a quick glance you can see financial information, a weather forecast, the latest sports scores, up to the minute company bulletins, news feeds, and a custom channel playing your latest promotional video or welcoming a new client. This application offered users a cheap alternative to expensive closed-circuit television systems and provided multiple content delivery streams and administration options.
